On February 1, APBOT Executive Director Chrystine Langille attended an in-person pre-budget consultation session with the Minister of Finance Ontario, Minister Sousa. Langille highlighted key member priorities including transportation and broadband infrastructure to support major employment opportunities in West Durham, the need for offsets in the budget to mitigate the unintended impact of the too much too fast roll out of Bill 148 employment changes – estimated have put up to 185,000 jobs in jeopardy – and the need for continued proactive education, resources and funds to support workplaces in achieving the positive benefits associated with addressing mental health in the workplace.
The Ontario Chamber Network and Ontario Chamber of Commerce have provided the Ontario Government with comprehensive recommendations to maximize economic growth and build prosperity across the province for the 2018 Budget.
