The Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Christmas Lunch at the Ajax Convention Centre and the event was an unmitigated success. The Christmas Lunch was sold out well in advance and the business community of Ajax and Pickering came out to celebrate. At the AGM, we welcomed two new directors to our council, Jim VanDusen of VanDusen Chevrolet Buick GMC and Adrian Neely of Petley-Hare Insurance Ltd. Judy Gaw of Eco Environment Plus and Joan Wideman of Lenbrook Group of Companies completed their respective terms as directors and stepped down.

With business was taken care of, members descended to join the assembled crowd for a delicious and fun Christmas Lunch.

Six tables competed in our annual Carole singing contest and the winning table performed a special version of, “Santa Claus is coming to town” reworked into “Joan Wideman is saying goodbye!” The lyrics expressed the gratitude we all share for the decades of service outgoing director Joan Wideman has given to the APBOT council. Luckily, we’ll still have Joan’s input as co-chair of our Government Relations Committee.
The event was sponsored by Johnson Inc. and Jacquelynn Tanner Sales Rep, Sutton Group-Heritage Realty Inc., Brokerage was our centrepiece sponsor.

Demonstrating the generosity of the season, attendees donated $1300.00 to our charity of choice, Durham West Arts Centre Foundation.
