Pillars, Goals and Objectives


Pillar: Driving Success
Goal: To support members by providing tools and opportunities that empower them to learn, grow and succeed.

1. We will provide pertinent, valuable, cost-saving programs and tools that allow members the benefit of collective programming and opportunities.

2. We will recognize and reward business excellence, member milestones and difference makers in the community.

3. We will provide timely, relevant education programs that support business success.

4. We will model excellence in our own business practices to provide leadership to our members.

Pillar: Advocacy
Goal: To be the voice of members and advocate for the interests of business in Ajax and Pickering.

1. We will monitor, research, and engage in public policy initiatives at all levels of government to represent the best interests of businesses in Ajax and Pickering.

2. We will educate our members to help them manage legislative changes by providing timely and accurate updates and tools.

3. We will serve as liaison between local government, community stakeholders, and business to address specific needs affecting businesses in Ajax and Pickering.

4. We will focus on collaborating with the Durham Region Chambers of Commerce/Boards of Trade to create a unified voice for business in the Region.

5. We will serve as active members in the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Ontario Chamber of Commerce to serve the needs of our membership.

Pillar: Community
Goal: To provide members with opportunities for connectivity and collaboration within both the APBOT community and the broader community that will expand their membership value and potential for growth.

1. We will strive to understand the diverse needs of our membership and work towards connectivity in our business community.

2. We will expand volunteer opportunities for our members to allow them to deepen their engagement leading to enhanced collaborative experiences.

3. We will establish strategic partnerships within our membership that facilitate growth within their own business and the broader community.

4. We will provide an accessible and welcoming environment where all members are valued and respected.
