Do It In Durham is a series of events taking place in the Region of Durham from 17-21 November. This series is in celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week. The Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade (APBOT) was pleased to partner in two fantastic events so far this week and we are hosting another one on Thursday.
On the morning of Tuesday, November 18th the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade partnered with the Ajax Business Network on an event titled “Entrepreneurs UNplugged”. The event was a frank, open mic-style story-telling session and was emceed by APBOT past-president John G. Smith of Wordsmith Media. Entrpreneurs UNplugged featured remarks from 2014 APBOT Business Person of the Year Ashmeed Khan of Minuteman Press, 2014 Ajax Emerging Entrepreneur BEA Winner Robert J. Weese of B2B Sales Connections Inc., 2010 APBOT Business Person of the Year, Lorelei Hepburn of The Environmental Factor and Stephen Barry of Fairail Properties Ltd.
On Tuesday afternoon, we were pleased to partner with the City of Pickering, Mentor Works and Export Development Canada (EDC) on a special “Government Funding & Export Support Options for Canadian Businesses” event. Bernadeen McLeod of Mentor Works and Kevin Sullivan of EDC provided valuable information on ways to access needed capital.
On Thursday, November 20th, APBOT will host a special “Membership…Make it Work for you” event at the OPG Information Centre in Pickering where we will help existing and potential members alike to learn about the many ways APBOT membership pays. That event is at capacity and registration is now closed.
