Jones delivers annual addresses to Pickering Council

2015 APBOT President Denise Jones, CPA, CA addressed Pickering Council on Monday, April 20th.
On Monday, April 20th, Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade 2015 President Denise Jones, CPA, CA of Collins Barrow Durham appeared at the Pickering Council Chambers to deliver our annual update to municipal representatives. Each year, APBOT’s president makes an address to both the Ajax and Pickering councils in order to keep the lines of dialogue open between the business community and our partners in local government.
In her remarks, Jones stated how honoured she is to preside over the board as we celebrate our 60th Anniversary.
“It would seem that the local business people knew back in 1955, what we know now;” said Jones, “that in order for the new community to thrive, they would need an active and effective organization through which businesses could connect, collaborate, cooperate and coordinate to create a successful community.”
Jones also spoke to our expanding membership ranks and touched upon our policy work around vital issues including the Greenbelt Act, the Pickering Airport Lands and Highways 407 and 401.
