The need for an airport in Pickering, police and fire services, job creation and local health care delivery were among the topics discussed by Durham Region Chair & CEO Roger Anderson at yesterday’s Regional Chair’s Luncheon Address. The Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade hosts the Chair’s Luncheon Address annually to provide as members with the opportunity to get an update from the Regional Chair about important business issues.
This year’s event, which was held at the Ajax Convention Centre, also served as a quarterly general meeting. 2016 APBOT President Denise Jones, CPA, CA of Collins Barrow Durham provided highlights of the board’s accomplishments so far this year.
The Regional Chair’s Luncheon Address is an initiative of our Government Relations Committee which is co-chaired by Joan Wideman of the Lenbrook Group and Tracy Paterson of Rouge Valley Health System Foundation. The committee meets monthly to discuss the issues that matter to the businesses of Ajax and Pickering and advocates on a variety of policy issues on behalf of the membership.
