Few people leave a legacy as deeply rooted in a community as Tracy Paterson.
After more than 30 years of dedicated service, Tracy is retiring from Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy in health care and philanthropy across Durham Region (The Regional Municipality of Durham) Region.
Since joining Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation in the late 1980s, Tracy has helped shape the future of health care in Durham Region through her leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to exceptional care close to home.
Over more than three decades, Tracy led transformational fundraising efforts that supported major hospital expansions, donor-funded equipment, the MRI campaign, The Shoulder Centre, and countless initiatives that improved patient care for families across our community.
One of Tracy’s greatest strengths was her ability to build trusted relationships and inspire people around a shared vision. Whether working with donors, volunteers, hospital teams, community leaders, or government partners, Tracy earned deep respect through her professionalism, integrity, and heart.
Her impact goes far beyond fundraising totals. Tracy helped build a culture of generosity, ambition, and community pride that will continue for generations to come.
On behalf of the Foundation Board and staff, thank you, Tracy, for your decades of leadership, friendship, and dedication to our hospital and community. Your legacy will continue to inspire all of us for many years to come.
As we celebrate Tracy’s remarkable career, we are also pleased to welcome Steven Cook as the new CEO of Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation. We look forward to building on the strong foundation Tracy helped create and continuing the important work ahead.
Wishing Tracy every happiness in retirement — you will always be part of the Ajax Pickering Hospital family.
