October 20, 2017: Ajax, ON, Last night, the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade (APBOT) announced the winners of its 23rd annual Business Excellence Awards at a gala dinner at Deer Creek Golf & Banquet Facility.
Local APBOT member businesses were nominated by their peers in six categories, and a panel of seven external judges evaluated their submissions.
This annual event exemplifies the commitment to business excellence and growth that is a hallmark of the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade and our business community.

Business Excellence Award Winner (1-9 Employees): The Staff Room

Business Excellence Award Winner (Not-for-Profit/Charity): Scientists in School

Business Excellence Award Winner (Sustainability): Town of Ajax
The Town of Ajax is a local municipality with a population of almost 120,000 people, covering an area of over 67km2. In 2013, the Town implemented an Integrated Community Sustainability Plan, which defines ways to achieve greater sustainability by 2055, as well as targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, demonstrating The Town’s long-term commitment to addressing local and global environmental challenges.
Business Excellence Award Winner – Business Person of the Year: Patrick Doyle
Pat Doyle is the President of Pat Doyle’s Proforma Promotional Products of Canada. Since starting his company 25 years ago, he has grown it into a Canadian leader in promotional products. In 2017, he expanded, creating the largest promotional products showroom in Durham Region.
